What is Vimshottari Dasha?
Vimshottari Dasha is the most widely used Vedic system of planetary periods. It divides life into major periods (Mahadasha) ruled by the nine planets, totalling 120 years, each subdivided into sub-periods (Antardasha).
How is my Dasha calculated?
From the exact position of the Moon in its nakshatra at your birth. The nakshatra's ruling planet and how far the Moon has moved through it set your starting Mahadasha and how much of it remains.
Do I need my birth time?
Yes. The Moon moves quickly, so an accurate birth time gives the most reliable dasha start dates.
Is the Dasha a prediction?
No. The dasha shows which planetary periods are active. It is a traditional framework for reflection, not a guaranteed outcome.
