GrahaRashi — Rooted in the stars

How does Kundli matching work?

From birth details to a compatibility reading, step by step.

1. Birth details

Each person’s date, time and place of birth are collected. The place is converted into coordinates and a timezone so the calculation reflects the correct sky.

2. Chart calculation

From the birth moment, the position of the Moon is calculated using the sidereal (Vedic) zodiac. This gives each person a Moon sign (Rashi) and a birth star (Nakshatra), which are the foundation of the matching factors.

3. Compatibility factors

The two charts are compared across the eight Ashtakoota factors to produce the Guna Milan score out of 36, along with traditional considerations such as Nadi and Manglik status.

4. Interpretation

Finally, the calculated findings are explained in plain language. It is important that the interpretation only describes what the calculation produced — the numbers are never invented or guessed. The result is a traditional interpretation for reflection, not a prediction.

A note on birth time

Because the Moon moves quickly, an accurate birth time improves the result. If the time is unknown, treat the reading as approximate.
