Rahu Kaal is a roughly 90-minute period each day, traditionally considered inauspicious for beginning important new work such as travel, ceremonies or signing agreements. It is one of the eight equal parts of the daytime (sunrise to sunset), and which part it falls in depends on the weekday.

Rahu Kaal is measured from the local sunrise and sunset, which vary by location and date. That is why the timing shifts between cities even on the same day.
